Draft — this page is a placeholder describing our actual data practices in plain language. It has not been reviewed by counsel and should not be treated as a final legal document.
What the DataChan app collects
- Camera frames are processed on your device to detect and read shelf labels (via on-device OCR). We do not store photos of you or your surroundings — only the resulting product, price, and store data from a scan.
- Scan data (store, product, price, timestamp) is kept as part of the shared verification record described in the How does the PRECIT app work? section.
- Account info, only if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple instead of using guest mode. Guest mode does not require any personal account information.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data to advertisers or retailers.
- We don’t run ads or ad-network trackers.
This website
